Our founding story
In the summer of 2018, Stephan Celis and Cristo Spreeuwers decided to take IT consultancy to the next level. With our combined twenty years of experience in IT, we decided to take on things differently. Early on in our careers, we noticed that young and promising consultants suddenly felt treated like a number by their employers. It was a pity to see that so many young potentials became dissatisfied. They felt neglected by their employers and the industry as a whole. We’re not dealing with profiles & profit margins, but we are dealing with talented people.
After some intensive brainstorming sessions, we came up with an ambitious plan. We were determined to change the industry as a whole. After all, company culture eats strategy for breakfast. The four cornerstones of our cultures consist of individual freedom, being surrounded by a close-knit team that feels like family. The supporting coaches combined with our flat company structure are cornerstones of our culture.
At Digital Unity, we not only strive for excellence but also to empower each consultant. One of these young potentials was Niels Wouters. Cristo and Niels worked together as document designers on a project back in 2014. Cristo immediately recognized his talent, openness, and his sharp mind. He was a perfect fit for Digital Unity. In March 2019, he joined our community of experts.
